Celebrating 5 Years of Healthcare Huddle: Past Achievements and Future Plans
What started as a simple idea to help healthcare professionals stay informed has grown into a community of 30,000 Huddlers nationwide and worldwide (shoutout to my Aussie Huddlers).
The journey has been challenging, fun, and incredibly rewarding—kind of like my path to becoming a physician. Lucky for me, I get to pursue two careers at once!
Looking Back
When I launched Healthcare Huddle in 2019, my goal was simple: to distill the chaos of healthcare into actionable insights for busy professionals (check out the FIRST newsletter I sent HERE). Back in 2020, I wrote a Medium article promoting Healthcare Huddle, in which I said:
As future health professionals, it’s our responsibility not just to know how the kidneys function, but also how recent healthcare legislation could affect patient outcomes.
I still stand by this.
Since then, I’ve had the chance to share the Huddle journey on podcasts, talking about how I’ve balanced medical training with running a growing media platform. If you’re curious, here are three episodes I highly recommend:

Healthcare Huddle grew from a one-person idea to a full-fledged team of brilliant MD, MPH, and MBA students producing content across platforms during the height of the pandemic. By 2021, the newsletter was acquired by Workweek Media, where it evolved from a consumer-oriented newsletter to a business-focused publication targeting healthcare’s decision-makers: executives, managers, physicians, and providers.
That shift in focus—from students and the layperson to healthcare leaders—helped cement Huddle as a prominent source for industry insights.
When I started residency in 2023, Workweek and I amicably parted ways, and I returned to running Healthcare Huddle solo, much like when it all began in December 2019. Since then, Huddle has expanded from a single newsletter into a platform offering:
